National Library of Medicine; Notice of Meeting of the Board of 
Scientific Counselors

    Pursuant to Public Law 92-463, notice is hereby given of the 
meeting of the Board of Scientific Counselors, National Library of 
Medicine, on October 10-11, 1996, in the Board Room of the National 
Library of Medicine, Building 38, 8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, 
Maryland.
    The meeting will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. 
and from 1:45 to 4:45 p.m. on October 10 and from 9:00 a.m. to 
approximately 12 noon on October 11 for the review of research and 
development programs and preparation of reports of the Lister Hill 
National Center for Biomedical Communications. Attendance by the public 
will be limited to space available. Individuals who plan to attend and 
need special assistance, such as sign language interpretation or other 
reasonable accommodations, should contact Ms. Jackie Duley at (301) 
435-3138 in advance of the meeting.
    In accordance with provisions set forth in sec. 552b(c)(6), Title 5 
U.S.C., and sec. 10(d) of Public Law 92-463, the meeting will be closed 
to the public on October 10, from approximately 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. 
for the consideration of personnel qualifications and performance of 
individual investigators and similar items, the disclosure of which 
would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.

Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications, National 
Library of Medicine, 8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland 20894,

rosters of committee members, and substantive program information.
