Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation; Notice of Proposed Changes 
in FERC Gas Tariff

May 6, 1999.
    Take notice that on April 30, 1999, Columbia Gas Transmission 
Corporation (Columbia) filed the following revised tariff sheets to its 
FERC Gas Tariff, Second Revised Volume No. 1 (Tariff) bearing a 
proposed effective date of June 1, 1999:

Second Revised Sheet No. 99O
First Revised Sheet No. 99P

    Columbia states that this filing is being submitted pursuant to 
Article VII, Section C, Accrued-But-Not-Paid Gas Costs, of the 
``Customer Settlement'' in Docket No. GP94-02, et al., approved by the 
Commission on June 15, 1995 (71 FERC 61,337 (1995)). The Customer 
Settlement became effective on November 28, 1995, when the Bankruptcy 
Court's November 1, 1995 order approving Columbia's Plan of 
Reorganization became final. Under the terms of Article VII, Section C, 
Columbia is entitled to recover amounts for Accrued-But-Not-Paid Gas 
Costs. As directed by Article VII, Section C, the tariff sheets 
contained herein are being filed in accordance with Section 39 of the 
General Terms and Conditions of the Tariff, to direct bill the Accrued-
But-Not-Paid Gas Costs that have been paid subsequent to November 28, 
1995.

    Columbia states that copies of its filing are available for 
inspection at its offices at 12801 Fair Lakes Parkway, Fairfax, 
Virginia and 10 G Street, NE, Washington, DC; and have been mailed to 
all parties on the Commission's service list in Docket No. RP96-140, et 
al., and to each of Columbia's firm customers, interruptible customers, 
and affected state commissions. Columbia also agrees to make available 
for this filing the data that it was required to provide in its June 
13, 1996 compliance filing in Docket No. RP96-140-002 pursuant to a 
protective agreement.
    Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE, 
Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as 
provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests 
will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate 
action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to 
the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission 
and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
