Summary
The Commission requests comments on a petition filed by Susquehanna Radio Corp. seeking the reallotment of Channel 265A from Albemarle, NC, to Indian Trail, NC, as the community's first local aural service, and the modification of Station WABZ's license accordingly. Channel 265A can be allotted to Indian Trail, with a site restriction of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) northeast, at coordinates 35- 06-53 NL; 80-33-44 WL, to accommodate petitioner's desired transmitter site. The allotment requires a waiver of the Commission's minimum distance separation requirements as the allotment would be short-spaced by Station WKXU, Channel 266C, Burlington, NC, by 28.1 kilometers. Station WABZ is a pre-1964 short-spaced station and parties are requested to comment on the appropriateness of permitting grandfathered short-spaced stations to change their community of license where short- spacings would still exist.
