ACTION: Notice of intent; amendment. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Salt Lake Field Office published in the February 3, 1997 issue of the Federal Register a notice of intent to prepare a plan amendment to the Pony Express Resource Management Plan to consider a special recreation management area (SRMA) at Fivemile Pass. This amendment would modify the area boundary and involve an expansion from approximately 31,360 acres to 36,629 approximate acres. DATES: The comment period for the proposed modification will commence with the date of publication of this notice. Comments must be submitted on or before September 9, 1999. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The Fivemile Pass SRMA was defined as containing at total of 31,360 acres which included 19,020 acres of public lands, approximately 10,740 acres of private land, and 1,600 acres of State lands. The proposed modification would contain a total of 36,629 acres of which would contain 29,611 acres of public lands, approximately 6,171 of private land, and 847 of State Land. The new boundary will affect all federal lands in: T5S R3W, Sections 33 and 34; T6S R3W, Sections 3, 4, 7-11, 13-24, 26-30, 33-35; T7S R3W, Sections 1, 3-15, 17, 18, 22-27, 34,35; T8S R3W, Section 3; T6S R4W, Sections 11-15, 22-26, 35; T7S R4W, Sections 1, 10-15. The modification is an effort to incorporate consolidated public lands into an enforceable boundary.
