[Federal Register Volume 64, Number 164 (Wednesday, August 25, 1999)] [Notices] [Page 46368] From the Federal Register Online via the Government Publishing Office [www.gpo.gov] [FR Doc No: 99-21988] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY Federal Energy Regulatory Commission [Docket No. TM99-1-8-001] South Georgia Natural Gas Company; Notice of Compliance filing August 19, 1999. Take notice that on August 13, 1999, South Georgia Natural Gas Company (South Georgia) tendered for filing data analysis in compliance with a Commission Letter Order dated June 30, 1999 which accepted the primary sheets filed and directed South Georgia to report by August 15, 1999. South Georgia states that they have conducted additional tests at the meter station, with gas flowing at delivery conditions. Based on these tests and analysis of system volume data by delivery point, South Georgia suspects that a strainer installed in April 1998, upstream of the meter, caused a mismeasurement of gas measured on that meter. The strainer design was unlike others on the South Georgia system and was removed in July 1999. Once the strainer was removed, the analysis of system volume data for the month of July appears to confirm the theory that this strainer was the source of the mismeasurement. In order to confirm this hypothesis, South Georgia plans to continue monitoring the monthly volume data at the meter run with the strainer removed. Following completion of further tests, South Georgia proposes to file a report with the Commission within thirty days and no later than December 31, 1999. South Georgia states that a copy of its filing was served on all of South Georgia's jurisdictional customers and interested state commissions. Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such protests must be filed as provided in Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceedings. Copies of this filing are on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection in the Public Reference Room.
