The current limit for Categories 338/339 is being reduced for carryforward and special carryforward applied to the 1998 limits. Dear Commissioner: This directive amends, but does not cancel, the directive issued to you on October 1, 1998, by the Chairman, Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements. That directive concerns imports of certain cotton, wool and man-made fiber textile products, produced or manufactured in Egypt and exported during the twelve-month period which began on January 1, 1999 and extends through December 31, 1999. Effective on March 26, 1999, you are directed to decrease the limit for Categories 338/339 to 2,600,870 dozen \1\, as provided for under the Uruguay Round Agreement on Textiles and Clothing and the Memorandum of Understanding dated October 22, 1998 between the Governments of the United States and the Arab Republic of Egypt (see directive dated November 10, 1998). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
