Supplementary Information
The purpose of the Task Force on Fusion Energy is to review the Department of Energy's plans for research and development of four fusion related technologies--pulsed-power, lasers, ion drivers, and magnetic fusion--and to provide advice to the Secretary of Energy Advisory Board on how to structure the Department's fusion energy programs, both inertial and magnetic. The review is to focus on the scientific quality of the programs, the goals and objectives of the programs, and the energy potential of each technology. The findings and recommendation of the Task Force on Fusion Energy are to comment on the goals and objectives of the Department's fusion energy related programs, provide a critique of the current development strategies, suggest changes in the overall fusion energy roadmap, and recommended funding levels.
