Overview of This Information Collection 1. Type of information collection (check justification or form 83): Revision of a currently approved collection. 2. The title of the form/Collection: Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Certain Rifles. 3. The agency form number, if any, and the applicable component of the Department sponsoring the collection: Form number (if applicable): ATF Form 3310.12. Component: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, U.S. Department of Justice. 4. Affected public who will be asked or required to respond, as well as a brief abstract: Primary: Business or other for-profit. Other (if applicable): None. Abstract: The purpose of this information collection is to continue a requirement that Federal firearms licensees report multiple sales or other dispositions whenever the licensee sells or otherwise disposes of two or more rifles to the same person at one time or within any five consecutive business days with the following characteristics: (a) Semi- automatic; (b) a caliber greater than .22; and (c) the ability to accept a detachable magazine. This requirement will apply to Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) who are dealers and/or pawnbrokers in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas. 5. An estimate of the total number of respondents and the amount of time estimated for an average respondent to respond: An estimated 1,000 respondents will utilize the form to respond twice to this collection, and it will take each respondent approximately 12 minutes to complete the form. 6. An estimate of the total public burden (in hours) associated with the collection: The estimated annual public burden associated with this collection is 400 hours which is equal to (1000 (total number of respondents) * 2 (total # of responses) * .2 (12 minutes). 7. An explanation of the change in estimates: The adjustments associated with this collection are a decrease in the number of respondents by 1,509, and a reduction in the collection burden hours by 3,215.
