The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing an exemption in response to a July 1, 2016, request, as supplemented by letter dated June 2, 2017, from Arizona Public Service Company (the licensee) in order to use Optimized ZIRLO<SUP>TM</SUP> fuel rod cladding material at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3.

AGENCY: Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

ACTION: Exemption; issuance.

SUMMARY: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing an 
exemption in response to a July 1, 2016, request, as supplemented by 
letter dated June 2, 2017, from Arizona Public Service Company (the 
licensee) in order to use Optimized ZIRLOTM fuel rod 
cladding material at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, 
and 3.
