This regulation establishes an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance for residues of two secondary alkane (C 13 - C 17 ) sulfonates (CAS Reg. Nos. 85711-69-9 and 97489-15-1) when used as inert ingredients (surfactant) in pesticide formulations applied to growing crops at a maximum concentration not to exceed 40% by weight. Exponent, on behalf of Clariant Corporation, submitted a petition to EPA under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), requesting establishment of an exemption from the requirement of a tolerance. This regulation eliminates the need to establish a maximum permissible level for residues of secondary alkane (C 13 -C 17 ) sulfonates.
