Announcement of meeting.

SUMMARY:

The FirstNet Authority Board will convene an open public meeting of the Finance Committee and the Board.

DATES:

August 18, 2020; 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST); WebEx.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

Background: The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 (codified at 47 U.S.C. 1401 et seq.) (Act) established the FirstNet Authority as an independent authority within NTIA. The Act directs the FirstNet Authority to ensure the building, deployment, and operation of a nationwide interoperable public safety broadband network. The FirstNet Authority Board is responsible for making strategic decisions regarding the FirstNet Authority's operations.

Matters to be Considered: The FirstNet Authority will post a detailed agenda for the Finance Committee and Board Meeting on FirstNet.gov prior to the meeting. The agenda topics are subject to change. Please note that the subjects discussed by the Finance Committee and Board may involve commercial or financial information that is privileged or confidential, or other legal matters affecting the FirstNet Authority. As such, the Board and Committee Chairs may call for a vote to close the meeting only for the time necessary to preserve the confidentiality of such information, pursuant to 47 U.S.C. 1424(e)(2).

Other Information: The public Finance Committee and Board meeting is accessible to people with disabilities.
