Notice of availability and request for comments.
SUMMARY:
This document provides the public with notice that, on April 25, 2022, the Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) submitted a request to field test new functionality to improve the safety critical nature of existing functions, such as mandatory directive conveyance and confirmation, and conditional authorities, and a safety server that is being added in ARRC's PTC Office ( printed page 28099) Segment to provide safety oversight of these new functions with the intent of improving the safety and efficiency of rail operations. FRA is publishing this notice and inviting public comment on the railroad's field test request.
DATES:
FRA will consider comments received by July 11, 2022. FRA may consider comments received after that date to the extent practicable and without delaying implementation of valuable or necessary modifications to a PTC system.
