Abstract:
An application is required by statute to award the Credit Enhancement for Charter School Facilities Program (formerly known as the Charter School Facilities Financing Demonstration Program) grants. These grants are made to private, non-profits; public entities; and consortia of these organizations. The funds are to be deposited into a reserve account that will be used to leverage private funds on behalf of charter schools to acquire, construct, and renovate school facilities.
The U.S. Department of Education is seeking OMB approval for a new collection for the application for the Credit Enhancement for Charter School Facilities Program. This collection was previously approved under 1855-0007 but the program has been moved into the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE) so we are requesting a new OMB number in order to align it with collections in OESE. Once approved, we will discontinue the 1855-0007 collection.
This collection is being submitted under the Streamlined Clearance Process for Discretionary Grant Information Collections (1894-0001). Therefore, the 30-day public comment period notice will be the only public comment notice published for this information collection.
