The information collection is needed to identify the prospective trustees for active duty military and retirees. The information is required in order for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to make payments on behalf of incompetent military members or retirees. DFAS is representing all services as the functional proponent for Retired and Annuitant Pay.
