Notice of Final Federal Agency Actions on Proposed Highway in California

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Effective July 1, 2007, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) assigned, and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) assumed, environmental responsibilities for this project pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327. Notice is hereby given that the Caltrans has taken final agency actions subject to 23 U.S.C. 139(l)(1) by issuing licenses, permits, and approvals for the following highway project in the State of California: The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 4, in partnership with the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC), proposes to provide interchange and local road improvements along Interstate 80 (I-80) at the Ashby Avenue Interchange. The project will replace the existing interchange connector ramps with a new bridge over I-80, realign access to West Frontage Road, and introduce a new bicycle-pedestrian overcrossing connection over I-80 from 65th Street/Shellmound Street to the San Francisco Bay Trail. The actions by the Federal agencies, and the laws under which such actions were taken, are described in the Final Environmental Document (FED) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the project, approved on December 28, 2023, and in other documents in the project records.
