The Department of Education (ED) announces the opportunity to apply for competitive grants for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 under the Training of Interpreters for Individuals Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and Individuals Who Are DeafBlind (Interpreter Training) program, Assistance Listing Number (ALN) 84.160D.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

The purpose of the Interpreter Training program is to provide training to interpreters to effectively meet the communication needs of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and individuals who are DeafBlind receiving vocational rehabilitation (VR) services and/or services from other programs, such as independent living services, under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Rehabilitation Act). The FY 2026 competition includes an absolute priority and an invitational priority, selection criteria, and requirements. The absolute priority is: Interpreter Training. The invitational priority is: Older Individuals with Disabilities.
