SUMMARY:

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), located within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announces the award of approximately $30,000,000, for Federal Fiscal Year 2026 funding to Zambia's University Teaching Hospital (UTH), subject to availability of funds. Funding amounts for years 2-5 will be set at continuation. The award is expected to improve HIV and TB clinical and laboratory service delivery at referral level hospitals and provincial-level referral facilities through the national government referral facility, UTH.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

The sole source award is expected to improve HIV and TB clinical and laboratory service delivery at referral level hospitals and provincial-level referral facilities through the national government referral facility, UTH.

UTH is the only entity that can carry out this work, as it is the country's national reference hospital, with a directive to provide inpatient and outpatient services for complicated cases, including advanced HIV disease cases.

Purpose of the award: The purpose of this award is to support sustainable HIV and TB service implementation through UTH.

Authority: This program is authorized under Public Law 108-25 (the United States Leadership Against HIV AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Act of 2003) [22 U.S.C. 7601, et seq.] and Public Law 110-293 (the Tom Lantos and Henry J. Hyde United States Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008), Public Law 113-56 (PEPFAR Stewardship and Oversight Act of 2013), and Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 242I).

Period of performance: September 30, 2026, through September 29, 2031.
