The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Pacific Council) will hold an all-Advisory Body online meeting.

The online meeting will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pacific Time.

The Pacific Fishing Effort Mapping Project (PacFEM) is a set of mapping dashboards that display the best-available publicly accessible data on commercial fishing effort footprints on the West Coast. Planning for new and expanding uses of offshore space, such as offshore aquaculture, mining, sea floor exploration, energy transmission, or renewable energy demands detailed data on existing uses, such as commercial fisheries.
Dr. Lisa Pfeiffer (NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center) will provide a presentation on PacFEM, followed by a question and answer session. More information on PacFEM can be found in this NOAA announcement and on the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission's PacFEM portal. This meeting is for informational purposes and is not directly related to a future Pacific Council agenda item.
