Pursuant to 15 CFR 400.14(b), FTZ production activity would be limited to the specific foreign-status material(s)/component(s) and specific finished product(s) described in the submitted notification (summarized below) and subsequently authorized by the Board. The benefits that may stem from conducting production activity under FTZ procedures are explained in the background section of the Board's website—accessible via www.trade.gov/ftz.

The proposed finished products include: various rails (mounting support; magnetic); various fans (axial; centrifugal); various assemblies (fan; printed circuit; electric motor); filter kits for fans; stepper motors with output not exceeding 37.5 watts; alternating current motors with output exceeding 18.65 watts but not exceeding 37.5 watts; motors with output not exceeding 750 watts; amplifiers; static converters; lithium-ion batteries; battery packs; battery cases; distribution boards for voltage not exceeding 1,000 volts; circuit breakers; and, insulated electric conductors (duty rate ranges from duty-free to 5.7%).

The proposed foreign-status materials/components include: plastic components (inverter cabinets; power stands; housings); printed catalogs; stainless steel components (screws; machine frames; cooling manifolds; nozzles; motor shafts; motor bearings); steel components (wire; mounting brackets; clips; finger guards; heat sinks; housings; bases; guide rails; carriages; spindle housings; protective guards; bearings; shafts; motor frames); iron mounting brackets; copper components (anchor brackets; electrical connections; motor coils; connectors); various fans (axial; blower and centrifugal; cooling); aluminum fan blades; liquid cooling fan systems; filters (fan; noise); brass nozzles; cables (connection; electrical); servo motors with power output from 18.65 watts to 37.5 watts; DC stepper motors with power output to 37.5 watts; servo motors with power output to 1k watts and up; single linear motors; generators; magnetic linear rails motor stators; motor rotors; AC/DC drivers; wiring harnesses; USBs; static amplifiers; power converters; static converter battery packs; permanent magnets; lithium-ion batteries; dry contacts; smart card storage devices; resistors for power handling capacity; wire wound variable resistors; sensors (temperature; humidity); receptacle boxes; controllers (programmable logic; electrical); power conditioners; electrical plastic boards; contact interface cards; fan motor integrated circuits; insulated plastic connector fittings; training and demonstration equipment for industrial motor control and automation systems; tachometers; airflow testers; and, carbon brushes for motors (duty rate ranges from duty-free to 8.5%).

The request indicates that certain materials/components are subject to duties under section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, or section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, depending on the country of origin.
