Abstract of Information Available

Human remains representing, at least, one individual have been identified. No associated funerary objects are present. These human remains were collected by a private citizen in the Loess Hills near Pisgah, IA in the 1930s. They were found in the estate of decedent Arthur Henderson in July 2026 and transferred to the State Medical Examiner's Office (IOSME#26-06865) where they were determined to be ancient and not of medico-legal significance. The human remains were then transferred to the OSA in late August 2026. One adult male of Native American ancestry is represented (BP4083). No hazardous substances were used to treat the human remains.

Cultural Affiliation

Based on the information available and the results of consultation, cultural affiliation is reasonably identified by the geographical location or acquisition history of the human remains described in this notice.
