Note:
The estimated annual IC time burden is the product, rounded to the nearest hour, of the estimated annual number of responses and the estimated time per response for a given IC. The estimated annual number of responses is the product, rounded to the nearest whole number, of the estimated annual number of respondents and the estimated annual number of responses per respondent. This methodology ensures the estimated annual burdens in the table are consistent with the values recorded in OMB's consolidated information system.
The superscript P denotes the number of respondents value is a placeholder.
General Description of Collection:
When an insured depository institution (IDI) is closed by its primary regulatory authority, the FDIC has the responsibility to pay the insured deposits pursuant to section 11(a) and (f) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act (FDI Act), 12 U.S.C. 1821(a) and (f); and the FDIC's regulations, “Deposit Insurance Coverage,” 12 CFR part 330, and “Recordkeeping for Timely Deposit Insurance Determination,” 12 CFR part 370. In the event that the requisite information is not available in a failed IDI's records, the FDIC will utilize these forms, declarations and affidavits to request the necessary information from a depositor. The forms are used to facilitate the FDIC's deposit insurance determinations in the event of the failure of an insured depository institution. It includes 18 information collection (IC) line items, including 15 that apply to both depositors and their agents (
e.g.
deposit brokers) and three intended for use by agents alone. There is no change in the substance or methodology of this information collection. The increase in burden is primarily due to an increase in the estimated number of respondents associated with the Claimant Verification Form, which encompasses claims filed by depositors of banks that failed in 2023.

General Description of Collection:
This information collection implements section 742(c)(2) of the Dodd-Frank Act (7 U.S.C. 2(c)(2)(E)) and FDIC regulations governing retail foreign exchange transactions as set forth at 12 CFR part 349, subpart B. The FDIC has adopted a retail forex rule that sets forth appropriate requirements for FDIC-supervised institutions engaged in such transactions. The regulation allows banking organizations under FDIC supervision to engage in off- exchange transactions in foreign currency with retail customers provided they comply with various reporting, recordkeeping and third-party disclosure requirements specified in the rule. If an institution elects to conduct such transactions, compliance with the information collection is mandatory. There is no change in the substance or methodology of this information collection. The estimated annual burden remains unchanged from the 2024 estimate.

( printed page 67319)
General Description of Collection:
The regulations at part 349 subpart A impose reporting and recordkeeping requirements, as defined by the PRA, on any FDIC-insured state-chartered bank that is not a member of the Federal Reserve System or FDIC-insured state- chartered savings association that is registered as a swap entity (covered swap entity). As such, the FDIC must periodically obtain approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for these collections of information (ICs) with respect to covered swap entities. The OMB approves these ICs through OMB No. 3064-0204 and last approved the ICR on December 18, 2023 (2023 ICR). OMB No. 3064-0204 is set to expire on December 31, 2026. There is no change in the substance or methodology of this information collection. The burden has increased by 125 hours, from 505 hours in 2023 to 630 hours. The increase is attributable to the inclusion of previously unaccounted for recordkeeping burden under 12 CFR 349.11(a)(1). All other burden estimates remain unchanged from the 2023 approval.
