Needs and Uses:
The AIE System collects personally identifiable information from individuals requesting access to Army installations. Respondents may include visitors, contractors, service members, dependents, retirees, and civilian employees, as applicable. Information may be collected through an online visitor-registration portal, at a Visitor Control Center, through self-service kiosks, or by authorized personnel at an installation access-control point. Information collected may include identifying and contact information, information from a valid identity credential, and, when required for identity proofing and vetting, biometric and other identifying information.
The Army uses the information to verify an individual's identity; authenticate identity credentials; conduct required vetting against authorized government data sources and access-denial lists; determine fitness for installation access; and issue, manage, or deny local access credentials or visitor passes, as appropriate. The information also supports registration of eligible individuals, maintenance of local access-control records, and implementation of installation physical-security procedures. This collection helps the Army protect personnel, facilities, equipment, and other resources by ensuring that individuals seeking access to Army installations are appropriately identified and screened.
