ACTION: Notice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, Public Law 92- 463, notice is hereby given that the Science Advisory Board's (SAB) Executive Committee will conduct a public meeting on Wednesday and Thursday, October 28-29, 1998. The meeting will convene each day at 8:30 a.m., in the Administrator's Conference Room, 1103 West Tower of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Headquarters Building at 401 M Street, SW, Washington, DC 20460 and adjourn no later than 5:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, however, seating is limited and available on a first-come basis. At this meeting, the Executive Committee will receive updates from its committees and subcommittees concerning their recent and planned activities. As part of these updates, some committees will present draft reports for Executive Committee review and approval. Anticipated drafts include the following: 1. Executive Committee's Subcommittee Review of the Agency's ``D-CORMIX Model'' 2. Drinking Water Committee Commentary on Criteria for ``Affordability'' in SDWA Decisions 3. Environmental Health Committee Review of the Agency's ``Acute Reference Exposure Methods'' 4. Radiation Advisory Committee Review of ``Health Risks From Low-Level Exposure to Radionuclides, Federal Guidance Report No. 13--Part 1, Interim Version'' Other items on the agenda tentatively include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Discussions with Mr. Peter Robertson, Acting Deputy Administrator, and other Agency leaders 2. Discussion with Dr. Laura Ogden, State of Florida, on the use of science and social science in decisionmaking 3. Discussion of interactions with other advisory groups at the local, state, and international level 4. Discussion of liaison contacts with Agency offices, following the July meeting of the Executive Committee 5. Discussion of SAB involvement in newer Agency activities, such as regulatory negotiation.
