Private Land Mobile Radio Service Rules, New England Area Public Safety Plan

On September 14, 1998, Region 19 submitted a proposed amendment to its Public Safety Plan that would revise the current channel allotments to reflect changes made as a result of its fourth window application process. In accordance with the National Public Safety Plan, each region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821-824/866-869 MHz bands.2 The Public Safety Plan for Region 19, which was adopted by the Commission on April 26, 1990, governs the use of frequency assignments in the 821-824/866-869 MHz within the New England area.3 The Commission is soliciting comments from the public before taking action on this proposed plan amendment. Interested parties may file comments to the proposed amendment on or before November 29, 1998, and reply comments on or before December 14, 1998. Comments may be filed using the Commission's Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS), [See Electronic Filing of Documents in Rulemaking Proceedings, 63 FR 24,121 (1998)], or by filing paper copies. Commenters who submit by paper should send original and five copies of comments to the Secretary, Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC 20554. Commenter should clearly identify all comments and reply comments, whether submitted electronically or as paper copies, as submissions to General Docket 90-53 New England Public Safety Region 19. Comments filed through the ECFS can be sent as an electronic file via the Internet to www.fcc.gov/e-file/ ecfs.html>. Generally, only one copy of an electronic submission must be filed. In completing the transmittal screen, commenters should include their full name, Postal Service mailing address, and the applicable docket or rulemaking number. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
