Submission For OMB Review; Comment Request

    DOC has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for 
clearance the following proposal for collection of information under 
the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).
    Agency: Bureau of Economic Analysis.
    Title: Annual Survey of Foreign Direct Investment in the United 
States.
    Form Number(s): BE-15(LF), BE-15(SF), BE-15 Supplement C.
    Agency Approval Number: 0608-0034.
    Type of Request: Reinstatement, with change, of a previously 
approved collection for which approval has expired.
    Burden: 128,000 hours.
    Number of Respondents: 4,975.
    Avg Hours Per Response: 26 hours.
    Needs and Uses: The annual survey collects enterprise-level data on 
the financial and operating characteristics of U.S. companies that are 
foreign-owned. Data from the survey are used to derive universe 
estimates covering all foreign-owned U.S. companies. The data are 
needed to measure the economic significance of, and monitor changes in, 
foreign direct investment in the United States, and to analyze its 
effect on the U.S. economy. They will also be used in formulating, and 
assessing the impact of, U.S. policy on foreign direct investment.
    Affected Public: Businesses or other for-profit institutions.
    Frequency: Annually (except years in which a BE-12 benchmark survey 
is taken).
    Respondent's Obligation: Mandatory.
