[Federal Register Volume 64, Number 87 (Thursday, May 6, 1999)] [Notices] [Page 24418] From the Federal Register Online via the Government Publishing Office [www.gpo.gov] [FR Doc No: 99-11380] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- DEPARTMENT OF LABOR Employment and Training Administration [TA-W-35,309 and TA-W-35,309Q] BP/AMOCO (Formerly Amoco Corporation) Amoco Exploration and Production Amoco Shares Services A/K/A Amoco Production Company, Inc. Headquartered in Houston, Texas Operating in the State of Tennessee; Amended Certification Regarding Eligibility to Apply for Worker Adjustment Assistance In accordance with Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S.C. 2273) the Department of Labor issued a Certification of Eligibility to Apply for Worker Adjustment Assistance on February 19, 1999, applicable to workers of Amoco Exploration and Production and Amoco Shared Services, Headquartered in Houston, Texas and operating at various locations in Texas and other States. The certification was subsequently amended to reflect a company name change and to include workers whose wages were reported under a separate Unemployment Insurance tax account. The amended notice was published in the Federal Register on April 6, 1999 (64 FR 16755). At the request of the State agency, the Department reviewed the certification for workers of the subject firm. New information provided by the State show that worker separations have occurred in Tennessee for Amoco workers engaged in activities related to exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas. The intent of the Department's certification is to include all workers of the subject firm who are adversely affected by increased imports. Accordingly, the Department is amending the certification to include the subject firm workers in Tennessee. The amended notice applicable to TA-W-35,309 is hereby issued as follows: ``All workers and BP/Amoco (Formerly Amoco Corporation), Amoco Exploration and Production, Amoco Shares Services, also known as Amoco Production Company, Inc., headquartered in Houston, Texas (TA- W-35,309) and operating in the State of Tennessee (TA-W-35,309Q), who became totally or partially separated from employment on or after October 1, 1998 through February 19, 2001 are eligible to apply for adjustment assistance under Section 223 of the Trade Act of 1974.''
