AGENCY: Department of Defense (DOD), General Services Administration 
(GSA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

ACTION: Notice of request for comments regarding the extension of a 
previously existing OMB clearance.

SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act, the 
Regulatory Secretariat Division will be submitting to the Office of 
Management and Budget (OMB) a request to review and approve an 
extension of a previously approved information collection requirement 
concerning Payments. A 60-day notice was published in the Federal 
Register at 80 FR 76492 on December 9, 2015. No comments were received.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: 

A. Purpose

    Firms performing under Federal contracts must provide adequate 
documentation to support requests for payment under these contracts. 
The documentation may range from a simple invoice to detailed cost 
data. The information is usually submitted once, at the end of the 
contract period or upon delivery of the supplies or services, but could 
be submitted more often depending on the payment schedule established 
under the contract (see FAR 52.232-1 through 52.232-4, and FAR 52.232-6 
through 52.232-11). The information is used to determine the proper 
amounts to be paid to Federal contractors.

B. Annual Reporting Burden

    Respondents: 80,000.
    Responses per Respondent: 120.
    Total Responses: 9,600,000.
    Hours per Response: .25.
    Total Burden Hours: 2,400,000.

C. Public Comments

    Public comments are particularly invited on: Whether this 
collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of 
functions of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and whether it 
will have practical utility; whether our estimate of the public burden 
of this collection of information is accurate, and based on valid 
assumptions and methodology; ways to

enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be 
collected; and ways in which we can minimize the burden of the 
collection of information on those who are to respond, through the use 
of appropriate technological collection techniques or other forms of 
information technology.
