SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This ICR seeks to extend PRA authority for
the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for General Industry Standard
information collections codified in regulations 29 CFR part 1910,
subpart I. The Standard requires that PPE--including equipment for

maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is
necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical
hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a
manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any
part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact.
This ICR covers hazard assessment and verification records and record
disclosure during inspections. Occupational Safety and Health Act
sections 2(b)(9) and 8(g)(2) authorize this information collection. See

change to existing requirements. The DOL notes that existing
information collection requirements submitted to the OMB receive a
month-to-month extension while they undergo review. For additional
substantive information about this ICR, see the related notice
published in the Federal Register on March 2, 2016 (81 FR 10918).
