AGENCY: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), DOT.

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: This notice contains a summary of a petition seeking relief 
from specified requirements of Title 14 of the Code of Federal 
Regulations. The purpose of this notice is to improve the public's 
awareness of, and participation in, the FAA's exemption process. 
Neither publication of this notice nor the inclusion or omission of 
information in the summary is intended to affect the legal status of 
the petition or its final disposition.

Petition for Exemption

    Docket No.: FAA-2016-8171.
    Petitioner: Mr. Karl Beutner.
    Section(s) of 14 CFR Affected: Sec. Sec.  61.155(c) and (d) and 
61.159(a)(2).
    Description of Relief Sought: The petitioner requested the FAA 
extend his eligibility to complete the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) 
practical test from July 31, 2016 to July 31, 2017. The petitioner also 
requested an exemption from Sec.  61.159(a)(2) of title 14, Code of 
Federal Regulations (14 CFR) to allow the petitioner to take the ATP 
practical test with less than the required 100 hours of night flight 
time.
