Overview of This Information Collection

    1. Type of Information Collection: Extension of a currently
approved collection.
    2. The Title of the Form/Collection: National Drug Threat Survey.
    3. The agency form number, if any, and the applicable component of
the Department sponsoring the collection: None.
    4. Affected public who will be asked or required to respond, as
well as a brief abstract: The affected public includes state, local and
tribal law enforcement agencies. Combined with other Federal, state,
and local information, the survey is used to present an accurate
picture of the national drug threat.
    5. An estimate of the total number of respondents and the amount of
time estimated for an average respondent to respond: It is estimated
that approximately 12,782 respondents will complete the survey within
approximately 33 minutes.
    6. An estimate of the total public burden (in hours) associated
with the collection: The estimated public burden associated with this
collection is 4218. This figure was derived by multiplying the number
of respondents (12,782) x frequency of response (1) x hours (0.33). The
estimate time for response is a conservative estimate. The technology
available to the respondent will further reduce response time.
