Notice; public hearing webinar.

SUMMARY:

The Gulf Fishery Management Council (Gulf Council) in partnership with the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (South Atlantic Council) will hold a public hearing via webinar to solicit public comments on Gulf Reef Fish Amendment 55/South Atlantic Snapper Grouper Amendment 44.

DATES:

The public hearing webinar will take place Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The webinar will begin at 6 p.m. EDT and will conclude no later than 9 p.m. EDT. For specific dates and times, see SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION . Written public comments must be received by the Gulf Council on or before 5 p.m. EDT on October 20, 2027, and by the South Atlantic Council on or before 5 p.m. on October 23, 2027.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

The agenda for the virtual public hearings is as follows: Council staff will begin with a brief presentation on the Amendment to modify the Gulf Reef Fish and South Atlantic Snapper Grouper Fishery Management Plans. The Amendment considers modifying stock catch limits, jurisdictional apportionment of the stocks, regional annual catch limits, and South Atlantic sector allocations for both species within the South Atlantic Council's jurisdiction.

Staff and a Council member from each region will be available to answer any questions, and the public will have the opportunity to provide testimony on the amendment and other related testimony.
