The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (Council) will hold a meeting of the Shrimp Workgroup.

The Shrimp Workgroup will meet from 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

The meeting is open to the public and available via webinar as it occurs. Public comment on agenda items may be submitted through the Council's online comment form available from the Council's website. The Council formed the Shrimp workgroup to identify workable solutions to reduce interactions with smalltooth sawfish and giant manta rays in the South Atlantic Federal shrimp trawl fishery. During the meeting representatives from the shrimp fishery, National Marine Fisheries Service, Council staff, Council members, Scientific and Statistical Committee, and relevant researchers will review available data and information pertaining to giant manta rays, smalltooth sawfish, and the South Atlantic Federal shrimp fisheries. In addition, they will discuss a list of potential options for bycatch reduction and/or mitigation.
