SUMMARY:
The South Atlantic and Gulf Fishery Management Councils (Councils) will hold a joint meeting of their Scientific and Statistical Committees (SSC) on October 20, 2026, and the South Atlantic Council will hold a meeting of their SSC from October 20-22, 2026.
DATES:
The joint meeting of the SSC will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. on October 20, 2026. The South Atlantic SSC meeting will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. EDT on October 20, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on October 21, and from 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. on October 22, 2026.

Joint SSC
—The joint SSC meeting agenda includes the review of the Black Grouper Management Strategy Evaluation, and other business as needed.
South Atlantic SSC—
The South Atlantic SSC meeting agenda includes the review of SEDAR (Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review) 94: Florida Hogfish (Florida Keys and East Florida model), the Dolphinfish Management Strategy Evaluation, and the Standardized Bycatch Reporting Methodology. The SSC will receive updates on the revised Marine Recreational Information Program Fishing Effort Survey and Recreational Angler Partnership Improvement Directive, Resilient Fisheries Project on Spatial Distribution Models, and Precision Threshold Workgroup progress. The SSC will also receive updates on Fishery Management Plan amendments, stock assessment schedules, SSC workgroup and SEDAR panel progress, and conduct other business as needed.
