SUMMARY:
The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (Council) will host a meeting of the Mackerel Cobia Advisory Panel (AP) on November 2 and November 3, 2026.
DATES:
The meeting will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. EDT on November 2 and from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on November 3, 2026.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
The Mackerel Cobia AP will receive updates on active Council amendments, Southeast Data Assessment and Review assessments planned for Atlantic king mackerel and Atlantic Spanish mackerel, updated Marine Recreational Information Program Fishing Effort Survey estimates, the Southeast Area Monitoring, Assessment, and Prediction Coastal Trawl Survey, and the Council's Citizen Science Program. The AP will discuss and provide recommendations on Coastal Migratory Pelagics Amendment 38, which addresses the commercial Atlantic Spanish mackerel fishing year, and sale of tournament caught king and Spanish mackerel. The AP will also discuss recent Council efforts to modify fishery management plan framework procedures and fish sale regulations. The AP will receive a

presentation from the Southeast Fisheries Science Center on in-season catch monitoring for Atlantic Spanish mackerel. Finally, the AP will update their fishery performance reports for Atlantic king mackerel and Atlantic Spanish mackerel.
